Porthilly Mussels Pattern Design

Emma-Digerud-White-Porthilly-Mussels

This week I revisited my old sketch books and found a line drawing I’d done of a mussel shell from aaaaaages ago and I thought ‘yes’ this is the next pattern! Where else to go collect beautiful mussel shells than Cornwall’s gorgeous Porthilly Beach. Thankfully the tide was out, forgot to check, so I collected some shells and drew the above beauts. There are so many interesting tones and shades, especially in the ones you think are just dark and boring at first. And of course had to stop off at The Mariners in Rock to sample some. Might have also had an Irish Coffee.
