Yesterday Heart Kiss Hug dedicated a whole day to creative thinking and learning new skills at Lee Stevenson’s Lino Printing Course at Truro Art’s Company. I would definitely recommend going if you get the opportunity.
I wanted to use my latest flower design which I did last week…
I traced my image using tracing paper then placed carbon paper on top of the lino slab (which I’d added a layer of white pigment to), then the tracing paper and then copied over the top.
Once I had my line drawing I used my nifty little lino cutting scoopy tool (I believe that is the correct terminology, yes) to cut out my pattern.
Next I used a roller and added a good layer of ink to the lino then finally placed my paper on top and used a secret tool* to pat it down with – et voila…
(Finished print Left, Lino cut Right)
Keep an eye out for some new Heart Kiss Hug prints. In the mean time have a look at all of my designs here http://heartkisshug.tictail.com
p.s. Don’t forget I’m at the Outlaw Craft Fair in Penzance this Saturday at St Johns Hall from 10-5pm
